From the dawn of our first export of non-basmati rice from India in 1997, to our operational expansion to five countries across four continents, we have grown to become one of the leading agricultural commodity traders worldwide.
Focusing on niche markets globally, we specialise in the trade of containerised agricultural commodities such as rice, sugar, beans and pulses, desiccated coconut and animal feeds – across Africa, Asia, North- and South America.
Within South Africa, the AKILA Group has operations in Durban, as well as in Cape Town where our South African head office is located, overlooking our domestic operations. AKILA Trading (Pty) Ltd acts as the Group’s international trading arm. It mainly trades independently by carrying its own stock of the above-mentioned products in South Africa, as well as offering these products to customers on a cost and freight basis.
The rest of the Group’s companies are located in India, USA, Brazil and Uruguay, each specialising in its own niche and strategically located to strengthen our position in the market.
