Originating from India in 1997, The Akila Group now has operations in South Africa, India, Vietnam and Brazil. Our main activities involve trading in agricultural commodities in Africa, Asia and Latin America.

The main commodities we trade in, are rice, sugar, popcorn, sago seeds, beans and pulses, groundnuts, whole and powdered spices and dehydrated edibles such as coconut, onion, garlic, etc.

Akila Trading (Pty) Ltd. situated in South Africa supports the activities of the other three companies of the group by acting as it's international trading arm. Although it generates business for the other group companies as well, it mainly trades independently by carrying it's own stock of the above mentioned products in South Africa, as well as offering these products to customers on a cost and freight basis.
